Electricity Pylons

Rising from reclaimed marshes along England’s estuaries, the power stations of the post-war era transformed the landscape with chimneys, pylons, and new industrial horizons. Stretching across the Usk, Wash, Medway, Humber, and Mersey, pylons trace lines through marshland and open countryside, becoming an enduring part of the human landscape. Often overlooked, they provide habitats for wildlife and invite the eye to follow their forms into the distance, where industry, nature, and imagination converge.
